Popular 18-year-old seen training with Newcastle United first team on Monday but won't feature on Tuesday night at St James' Park
Newcastle United have the perfect opportunity to give some fringe players a taste of first-team football on Tuesday night as they look to add to their five-goal lead in the Champions League play-off.
The Magpies take a 6-1 lead into the home leg of the Champions League play-off on Tuesday night, and while it's not mission accomplished just yet, it would take a catastrophe for Newcastle to fail to progress to the knockout phase.
That gives Eddie Howe a good opportunity to play some youngsters during tomorrow's game, although we think his starting lineup will be mostly senior players with the youngsters being introduced later.
Alex Murphy, Leo Shahar and Sean Neave have been on the bench for Newcastle in the Champions League this season, and we expect them to be given a taste of first-team football tomorrow.
Park Sueng-soo won't be involved on Tuesday night at St James' Park
Fans were excited when it was revealed today that Korean youngster Park Seung-soo was training with the first team today, hoping that the 18-year-old would be part of the squad tomorrow.
Unfortunately, they soon realised that wouldn't be the case as the winger, who impressed in pre-season, is ineligible to play in the competition.
Newcastle didn't register Park in their A-List squad and, even though his age qualifies him for the B-List, players also need to have been at the club for two years to be eligible, which he hasn't, having only joined this summer.
Park Seung-soo made it to the bench in the FA Cup
Park Seung-soo was spotted on the bench for Newcastle when they faced Aston Villa in the FA Cup, but he was an unused substitute.
Many fans thought that Park already looked first-team ready after his dynamic performances in Korea during pre-season, but he's yet to make his senior debut.
It seems to take a lot for Eddie Howe to give youngsters a shot in the first team, so who knows how long it will be before we see the tricky Korean make his debut. Hopefully, we don't have to wait too long.
