Youngster to make full debut - Our predicted Newcastle United starting XI to face Qarabag FK on Tuesday
Newcastle United host Qarabag FK in the second leg of the Champions League play-off on Tuesday night. Kick-off is at 8pm live on TNT Sports and Prime Video.
It would take a catastrophic display by Newcastle to throw away their lead and crash out of the competition on Tuesday as they take a 6-1 lead into the home leg of the tie.
With that in mind, we expect Eddie Howe to change things up a bit with his team, giving players returning from injury a run out and even giving one player his first start for the senior side.
We expect he'll start with a relatively strong-looking side, and if they can add a goal or two, he might introduce more of the youngsters from the bench. Although this is Eddie How, so we could be miles off.
Goalkeeper
Nick Pope - Popey seems to be the goalkeeper of choice for the Champions League, and we think he'll stick with that.
Defenders
Jacob Murphy - We're hoping for Leo Shahar, but we think Howe will start with Murphy to give Kieran Trippier a break, and Shahar may get a chance later in the game.
Sven Botman - Malick Thiaw is suspended, so he gets a well-earned break. Sven Botman is expected to be back, so he'll likely start.
Dan Burn - Burn's walking the old disciplinary tightrope, so a booking in this game rules him out of the next round, but we don't have any other choice but to play him.
Alex Murphy - Of all the youngsters riding the bench this season, Murphy has seen the most game time, but this would be his first start for the club. We'll have Lewis Hall on the bench in case of emergency.
Midfielders
Joe Willock - Willock has been doing well of late, and we expect him to be called upon from the off tomorrow.
Jacob Ramsey - See also Joe Willock.
Joelinton - Definitely won't last the full 90 minutes as it's only his third game back after injury, but we expect him to start. Will probably make way for Sandro Tonali in the second half or vice versa.
Forwards
Will Osula - Could be Osula, could be Anthony Elanga. Who knows? We think the headless chicken deserves a run out, though, so we've gone with Will Osula.
Yoane Wissa - Like Joelinton, we doubt he'd see out the full 90, but this game is perfect for him to get some shooting practice in.
Anthony Gordon - Eddie Howe may want to rest him, but we don't think Gordon will be up for that when he's hunting down Kylian Mbappe in the top scorer list.,
