Newcastle United are gearing up for their final game of the season at Brentford this afternoon but Anthony Gordon has taken the time out to be a top, top man.

Anthony Gordon picked up a knock against Manchester United on Wednesday and it's not known whether the lightning-quick winger will be available to play in today's match.

There was talk that he hadn't travelled with the squad, but we're not sure where that came from or how accurate it is. Time will tell.

Gordon could make dreams come true today if he plays and inspires Newcastle to the win they need to finish above Manchester United for the first time in Premier League history and keep our European dream alive.

Gordon has got in touch over a young boy in hospital who idolises him

However, off the pitch, it looks like Gordon is about to make a young boy's dream come true regardless.

A woman on X called Laura (@MsLauraTeeee) is on a mission to raise money for the Children's Cancer Ward at Manchester Children's Hospital. One little lad on the ward is a huge Anthony Gordon fan, so Laura put out the feelers on social media to see if anyone could get in touch with Gordon about the boy.

It worked and Anthony Gordon has sent Laura a direct message on X to arrange something.

Gordon has continually shown his class this season on and off the pitch

Gordon has done a lot to earn the love and respect of Newcastle fans since his move from Everton, before which, most fans had a very different opinion of him.

He has proven his class on and off the pitch and whatever it is he chooses to do for this young lad is sure to make his day.

A quality gesture from a top man. Footballers are idols and taking time out of their lives to give back can mean more than anything they do on the pitch, so fair play to Gordon for this move.
