Newcastle United goalkeeper Martin Dubravka has admitted that he "needs to speak" to Toon boss Eddie Howe about his future after the signing of two goalkeepers.

Yesterday, the Magpies confirmed the signing of Former Nottingham Forest and Benfica stopper Odysseas Vlachodimos and veteran keeper John Ruddy meaning the club has five senior goalkeepers on their books.

Dubravka; who was on international duty with Slovakia at Euro 2024 before an extra-time defeat to England on Sunday has had rumours over his immediate future at the club following reported interest from Celtic and Saudi Arabia.

Even with the departure of Loris Karius, Newcastle may still look to offload another goalkeeper with Dubravka the most likely candidate.

Dubravka is unsure about his Newcastle future

Following the defeat to England on Sunday, Dubravka caught up with the Daily Mail's Craig Hope who asked him about his Newcastle future.

Dubravka told Hope: "I have no idea. I have seen they are talking with other goalkeepers.

"I need to speak with the manager first. What is the plan for me? What is my future?

"I don’t know if they want me to stay or not. It is difficult for me because I have been focussed on my job with the national team.”

Will Newcastle sign another goalkeeper?

Reports have suggested that Odysseas will act as the second-choice goalkeeper to challenge Nick Pope next season, Ruddy will be third-choice leaving Mark Gillespie in limbo.

The Magpies were looking to sign Burnley keeper James Trafford, but with the new signings that deal looks to be done.

Other big names including Valencia's Giorgi Mamardashvili and Arsenal's Aaron Ramsdale were mentioned but no concrete bids were placed for either player.

Dubravka's immediate Newcastle future looks uncertain but one thing is for sure, Eddie Howe needs to lose at least one goalkeeper.
