Newcastle United reportedly eyeing £100m Manchester City star for January switch - Aye, right

A new report has suggested that Newcastle United have got their eye on a January switch for a player that once went for £100 million.

If you've been following the transfer situation at Newcastle, you'll know that spending money in January seems to be the furthest thing on the club's agenda.

Outgoing transfers are the priority when the window opens tomorrow, but there have still been reports of some potential incomings, but it's unlikely to be any superstars.

Newcastle and Tottenham are 'monitoring' Jack Grealish's situation

The Daily Mail has now claimed that Newcastle and Tottenham are both monitoring Jack Grealish's situation at Manchester City.

The former Aston Villa star has struggled for game time this season as Manchester City's form has dropped off the map.

While The Mail doesn't go into any more detail other than 'monitoring his situation' we expect that, for it to happen in January, it could only be a loan move.

There's no way Manchester City could let him leave

Jack Grealish is clearly not going to bring in anything close to the £100 million City paid for him in 2021, but they aren't likely to let him go for cheap either.

In fact, given their current situation with injuries, Man City couldn't afford to let Grealish go for any money, and definitely not out on loan.

It's an absolute non-starter, surely. Still, it made for an amusing story so we thought we'd share it to provide some festive chuckles.
