Newcastle United have been put on alert after one of their summer transfer targets has signalled his intent to move clubs.

Fikayo Tomori isn't getting the playing time he wants at AC Milan any more and is now likely regretting turning his nose up at a move to Newcastle in the summer.

Tomori, along with his Milan teammate Malick Thiaw, were high on Newcastle's wish list early in the summer before their attention turned to Crystal Palace defender Marc Guehi.

The former Chelsea man hinted that he doesn't see Newcastle as a step up in his career and we moved on.

Fikayo Tomori wants a move back to England

Now, however, reports are circulating that Fikayo Tomori has instructed his agent to get working on a move away from Milan.

This is likely to put Newcastle on high alert, according to journalist Rudi Galetti, who also claims that Tomori has asked his representatives to prioritise a move back to England.

It's not the first time that the Tomori to Newcastle rumours have been rekindled with a similar story coming out a few weeks ago, but now this rumour is apparently being driven from the player's side rather than just media speculation.

Milan could be open to offers around £25 million for Fikayo Tomori

It's believed that Milan would only want to recoup the £25 million they paid for Tomori which should be an affordable deal for Newcastle.

Regardless of what Tomori had allegedly said about a move to Newcastle, we'd love to see him at the club. At £25 million he'd be a much better piece of business than whatever it was we were willing to pay for Marc Guehi.

When Newcastle played Milan in the Champions League last season, Tomori was like a brick wall. He may need some time to get his groove back having only played 13 minutes since October, but we'd take that chance on him in a heartbeat.
