It's going to come to a point where Newcastle United will have to interview the board members of any club they look to loan a player to gauge their manager's job security.

Shortly after Australian wonderkid Garang Kuol landed in England he was whisked away north of the border to sign a loan deal with Scottish Premier League side Hearts. Just a couple of games into his stint in Scotland, Hearts dismissed their manager, and Kuol had to win over a whole new gaffer - which he failed to do.

This season, Alex Murphy agreed a loan move to League One side Bolton Wanderers, and then just three days later, they parted with the manager that brought him to the club.

Now the curse has struck again, with the BBC reporting that a former Newcastle man has been given the boot shortly after bringing in a Newcastle youngster.

Charlie McArthur must impress the new Carlisle boss

Mike Williamson has been sacked just two weeks after signing Toon youngster

Charlie McArthur moved to Carlisle United a couple of weeks ago and was soon followed by another familiar face, Paul Dummett who linked up with Carlisle to help out his former teammate Mike Williamson who was in the Cumbrians' hot seat.

'Was' being the operative word there as Carlisle have now parted ways with Williamson after just four months in charge.

Williamson will now be looking for his fourth job in under 18 months, having left Gateshead for MK Dons, where he lasted just 11 months in that role.

Charlie McArthur has his work cut out for him at Carlisle now

This leaves Charlie McArthur in a similar position to Alex Murphy now, having to impress a whole new boss who may not know who they are when they report for duty.

Managers aren't going to want to take our players on loan at this rate. Each Newcastle United youngster comes with bags of promise and an axe.

Hopefully, McArthur can do enough to impress the new gaffer and cement his place in the team for the remainder of the season.
