Newcastle United have learned their fate for the next round of the FA Cup following their big win over Aston Villa on Saturday.

The Magpies have been rewarded with a home tie in the fifth round after the draw took place at the home of cup minnows Macclesfield ahead of their clash with Brentford.

However, for all the Magpies were handed a home tie, it was against Manchester City, who have already dumped Newcastle out of the Carabao Cup with ease in the two-legged semi-final.

Newcastle will face Manchester City for the fourth time this season on Saturday at the Etihad Stadium, where we're sure the tie will be mentioned.

All hail Queen Karen

Playing Manchester City five times in a season when we are far from our best is just cruel, but as we say after every draw, to be the best, you've got to beat the best.

Toon Polls shared on X that Newcastle were drawn against Sunderland in the rehearsal, and let's be honest, we'd all rather have taken that draw than facing Pep Guardiola's lot again.

Top marks to Karen Carney, who aimed a savage dig at Sunderland too, saying, "There must be a mistake, Sunderland surely can’t be in the 5th round?” If that's true, she should never have to pay for a drink in the Toon again.

Newcastle can beat Manchester City at St James' Park

I think I may spend the rest of my night trawling X to see the fans claiming that the draw is somehow rigged. The old heated balls argument is always a firm favourite.

The ties are set to be played on the weekend of March 7th, with confirmation of final dates and times to be confirmed in due course.

Newcastle have knocked Man City out of cup competitions before, and we definitely owe them one this season. We can do this!
