At the time this article goes live, we will be entering the final 30 minutes of the summer transfer window, and we'll soon know exactly where Newcastle United stands in terms of squad depth for the first half of the season at least.

Alexander Isak should be a Liverpool player, Will Osula will likely be an Eintracht Frankfurt player, and Yoane Wissa will be Newcastle's new number 9.

That's how things are looking at the time of writing, but we'll only know later tonight if that's how everything has panned out.

Meanwhile, Newcastle weren't content with just one incoming player on deadline day, it seems, as Turkish outlet Aspor have reported that the Magpies made a deadline day loan move for Jayden Oosterwolde from Fenerbahce.

Newcastle have had a last-ditch attempt to sign Jayeden Oosterwolde rebuffed

Newcastle have had their eye on the 24-year-old Dutch defender for a while, even looking at him as an alternative to Marc Guehi at one point.

Aspor's report claims that Fenerbahce immediately rejected Newcastle's approach, which was a loan with an option to buy.

With it being late in the day, move on deadline day, there wasn't much time for negotiation, so it's likely that his one, if even true in the first place, was never going to amount to anything.

Newcastle's summer transfer window was mission accomplished

Newcastle got their central defender in during this window when German centre-back Malick Thiaw arrived from AC Milan, so it's not the end of the world that we potentially missed out on another one.

Indeed, Newcastle were looking to strengthen four positions heading into this summer: Goalkeeper, centre-back, right wing and centre-forward, and they have achieved that goal, and then some, with the extra additions of Jacob Ramsey in midfield and the signing of two strikers.

Of course, we have also lost two strikers, so in that respect, we're no further forward, but you can't have everything. As long as Nick Woltemade and Yoane Wissa can stay fit for more games than Callum Wilson and Alexander Isak did, we'll be fine.
