Newcastle United have avoided Premier League opposition again as the FA Cup draw took place this evening.
After sweeping aside Bromley FC 3-1 at St James' Park on Sunday afternoon, the Magpies were placed into the draw for the fourth round.
There were still plenty of big sides left in the competition to avoid with both Manchester clubs, Liverpool, Tottenham, Chelsea and Aston Villa were all in the draw too.
That will not be the case in the next round however, as there were a couple of all-Premier League ties drawn by Martin Keown and Mark Schwarzer.
Newcastle will be on the road in the fourth round, travelling to League One Birmingham City with the ties set to take place between February 7th-10th.
Sunderland will be playing ... on their PlayStations or whatever as they were knocked out by Stoke yesterday.
Meanwhile, there were a couple of tasty ties made with a few Premier League sides set to miss out on the next draw.
Everton will play Bournemouth at home, Man United will play Leicester City, Brighton take on Chelsea and Aston Villa will face Tottenham.
Liverpool were drawn against Plymouth while Manchester City will take on either Leyton Orient or Derby.
It looks as though the Liverpool and Man City will be in the next draw, so should Newcastle beat Birmingham, they will be ones to look out for.
But we're getting ahead of ourselves. We've got to take care of business down in Brum first.
