Newcastle United drawn at home against League Two opposition in FA Cup third round

Newcastle United have learned their FA Cup fate as they enter the competition in the third round.

The draw has taken place at Old Trafford, the home of FA Cup holders Manchester United.

Newcastle United were ball 26 in the draw with fans hoping for either an exciting draw like the one against Sunderland last season, or an 'easy' draw against a lower-league club.

Although those 'easy' draws don't always turn out that way. Cambridge United, anyone?

Dion Dublin gave us a kind draw pulling out League Two opposition

Newcastle were drawn out of the bag as the home side by Mark Hughes on Monday night and will face League Two Bromley at St James' Park thanks to that bloke of Homes Under The Hammer.

We had to wait a while to find out our opposition and by the time our number was drawn, Sunderland had already been pulled out of the bag ending our hopes of a repeat of last season.

A League Two side may be just what we need, although we said that about League Two Wimbledon in the Carabao Cup and we only just scraped past them this season. Although, Bromley are currently 20th in the table so clearly aren't having the best of seasons.

There were a couple of tasty ties drawn

Arsenal were drawn against Manchester United in the tastiest tie of the round while Manchester City were drawn against Salford which is also a fun tie to keep an eye on.

The ties are set to be played between 9th and 13th of January.

Let's use this "easy" tie to kickstart a huge run in the cup.
