Newcastle United have reportedly set their sights on another young prodigy doing his thing in Bundesliga 2 in Germany with Hertha BSC.

The Magpies are scouting the globe looking for young talent to snap up and develop through the ranks at Newcastle.

Recently, it was reported that Newcastle are looking set to beat Barcelona and Real Madrid to upcoming Spain star Antonio Cordero, and now BILDSport in Germany (via SportWitness) are reporting that Paul Mitchell could be about to join a growing queue of clubs looking at 19-year-old Ibrahim Maza.

The attacking midfielder has five goals and four assists in 21 games this season and has caught the attention of many, many clubs.

Many clubs around Europe are circling Ibrahim Maza

Hertha may have already shot themselves in the foot with this one after demanding over €20 million (£16.6 million) when Porto and AC Milan came knocking in January.

It is now being reported that Maza has a clause in his contract that could see him move for around half that fee, alerting clubs to his availability for what could be as little as £8 million.

Newcastle are tracking Maza's progress, but the report names a bunch of clubs from around Europe who are also showing interest, including Brighton, Atletico Madrid and Marseille.

Could Ibrahim Maza be this year's Will Osula?

Ibrahim Maza could be this year's Will Osula/Lewis Hall. Someone we bring in to hang around the first team for the bulk of next season before being drip-fed into the first team.

Although, even at £8 million, he may be dropped into the reserves or perhaps even loaned out.

Bundesliga 2 to Premier League is quite a step up, and we doubt he'll be ready to go straight away at 19 years old. It'll be interesting to see if we do join the fight for his signature in the summer.
