Today has seen a lot of speculation around the Marc Guehi to Newcastle United saga with reports of the Magpies submitting a third, and possibly final bid to Crystal Palace.

Reports this morning suggested that Newcastle's previous bid of £50 million had been rejected by Palace which was believed to have been the Magpies' second attempt after a £45 million bid was rejected.

While Keith Downie and Sky Sports were reporting that a third bid had been submitted, nobody was quite sure what the details of that bid were.

Now the Daily Mail are reporting that the new offer is £55 million plus £5 million in addons which is much closer to Crystal Palace's £65 million valuation.

We're edging closer to a resolution

Newcastle and Crystal Palace are £5 million apart on price now

Whether close enough will be good enough,. we'll have to wait and see but Sky Sports News reported mere minutes ago that the latest bid still had not been rejected which should give some hope.

Newcastle are asking for a quick decision so they can get moving on bringing Guehi to the club.

The quicker Newcastle can get the deal done, the more chance there is of Guehi featuring on Saturday. It's also in Palace's best interest to get the deal done quickly to maximise their time to find a replacement.

Good old ITKs are saying the deal is done

Similarly, if the rumours that Newcastle will walk away from the table if this bid is rejected are true, then Newcastle have limited time to find a backup option.

Twitter ITK's are putting their necks on the line with one saying he'll quit the ITK game if his information that the deal is done turns out to be untrue.

Our feeling is that the deal is still not done and said X user will not stop trying to be an ITK either as he will find some way to spin it that he was right when Guehi eventually signs.

And if the deal falls through, he'll still wriggle out of it because that's how ITKs operate.
