This summer Newcastle United will need to brace themselves for offers from some of their top players as clubs will look to exploit the Magpies' notorious Financial Fair Play difficulties.
Despite the club being backed by the mega-rich Public Investment Fund of Saudi Arabia, the Premier League's rules on spending have massively limited the club's spending powers and as a result, there's a strong rumour that Eddie Howe will have to sell to buy this summer.
That's not entirely accurate as there will be money for Howe to spend, but with so many players needed to rebuild the squad, we could run out of FFP headroom pretty quickly and then the need to sell becomes more pressing.
One player who was reportedly close to an exit in January and is still expected to depart this summer is Kieran Trippier.
The England international was the first player through the door in the Saudi era and has been massive for the club since signing, with BBC Five Live pundit Michael Brown calling him 'incredible' since signing.
However, Trippier is now 33 and has had his struggles this season and that's why many people think his time might be running out at St James' Park.
Journalist Pete O'Rourke has heard differently though, telling Football Insider that the club are set to open talks with Trippier over a new deal.
We're not against keeping Trippier at the club, but it might be time to start looking at giving him a more diminished role in the first team.
His leadership is second to none and we don't want to lose that, but he can do a lot of that from the sidelines as well. We've got Tino Livramento coming through and looking absolutely brilliant, and we also have Harrison Ashby due back from a season on loan at Swansea.
Trippier can still play a big part for Newcastle, but it's time to start moving forward, but keeping him at the club would make it a lot easier to transition him into a coaching position which would be a fantastic move for us.
