There are several positions that Newcastle United need to strengthen this summer which is going to prove to be a nightmare for Eddie Howe unless there are big changes to Financial Fair Play rules.
It's going to be a nightmare even if Newcastle get the green light to spend whatever they want, but at least having the financial freedom will ease the burden.
One position Newcastle could be looking to recruit two players for is goalkeeper. Loris Karius is leaving the club at the end of the season leaving a hole to be filled there.
More importantly, though, Martin Dubravka gets points for effort for filling in for the injured Nick Pope this season, but he's also proved that we need better.
Question marks still remain over Nick Pope who didn't have the greatest of starts to the season and that big issue of him not being too comfortable with his feet isn't going away either.
So it makes sense that Newcastle have been linked with a few goalkeepers lately with the likes of Arsenal's Aaron Ramsdale and Middlesbrough's Seny Dieng being recent names linked to St James' Park.
However, it's now been revealed by Scouts In Attendance on X, that scouts from Newcastle, along with Wolverhampton Wanderers, Borussia Dortmund, Bayer Leverkusen and Juventus have been sent to watch over young Danish goalkeeper Filip Jorgensen of Villareal.
The 21-year-old has made the most saves of any goalkeeper in La Liga this season which has caught the attention of some of Europe's finest ... and Wolves.
The Swedish-born stopper plays his international football for Denmark U21s after switching allegiances but is yet to make a senior appearance so could still switch back.
Jorgensen has missed just one game for Villareal in La Liga this season. We imagine that Villareal won't want to lose him this summer so it could end up being a pricey deal, but young goalkeepers who can cut it at the top level are a rarity, so he would be an ideal signing for Newcastle if they can see off the competition.
