Aaron Ramsdale is heavily linked with a move to Newcastle United this summer after the Arsenal man has been dropped to second-choice goalkeeper behind David Raya.
Newcastle's number one, Nick Pope has spent a large portion of this season sidelined through injury, and that came after doubts about his ability were starting to surface among fans.
However, since picking up his shoulder injury, Martin Dubravka has taken over the mantle at St James' Park, and suddenly, Nick Pope's shortcomings don't look so bad at all.
That's not stopped fans from expecting that the Magpies will be looking for a new stopper this summer and Aaron Ramsdale seems like the perfect fit.
Ramsdale moved to Arsenal for £30million from Sheffield United almost three years ago and things were looking good for the England man, however, Mikel Arteta brought in Brentford's David Raya on loan this season and the Spaniard quickly made the number one spot his own.
Newcastle have often been touted as the side to end Ramsdale's Arsenal nightmare and now GiveMeSport are claiming that the 25-year-old is 'open-minded' about the idea.
The report goes on to suggest that Nick Pope's status as first-choice isn't as safe as others may think and that Ramsdale could take over if he made the move.
Our issue with this move has always been how the club would convince Ramsdale that he'd get the playing time he craves with Nick Pope also on the books. he's not going to want to move to another club and be second-choice again, he's not Martin Dubravka.
The Magpies are also on the lookout for a backup 'keeper with Loris Karius leaving the club at the end of the season.
Yesterday Newcastle were linked to Middlesbrough's Senegal international 'keeper, Seny Dieng to replace the German.
