Newcastle outbid Premier League rival for 'unbelievable' Barcelona player

Reports are now suggesting that Newcastle United have already made a start on their Christmas shopping by making an early bid for a long-standing target.

It is looking increasingly likely that Newcastle will make an effort to move on Miguel Almiron ASAP which would leave the Magpies with an even bigger problem at right-wing than they already have.

A recent report has linked Newcastle with Brentford's Bryan Mbuemo as a direct replacement should they move on Miguel Almiron in January.

However, Football365 are have relayed reports from Spain that both Newcastle and Manchester United have made a bid for Barcelona winger Raphinha.

Newcastle's interest in 'unbelievable' Raphinha isn't new with reports dating back to his days at Leeds United linking them with a move before he ultimately booked his dream move to Barcelona.

Despite often impressing for the Catalan giants, reports that an exit was on the cards were never far away from the Brazilian and that often led to rumours of Newcastle preparing offers.

These latest reports claim that Newcastle have now made a €60 million (£50 million) offer for the 27-year-old winger.

The same report claims that Manchester United have also made a bid but have come up short with their €55 million (£46 million) offer, €10 million of which is add-ons.

Dealing with Barcelona was never really the issue, it was always convincing Raphinha to return to the Premier League and leaving Barcelona where Newcastle were likely to struggle.
