Newcastle United don't yet know who they'll face in the FA Cup quarter-final but they know they're on the road again either against Championship side Blackburn Rovers or League Two Wrexham.

With some top Premier League sides left in the competition, Newcastle did well to avoid a tricky tie and will now be watching eagerly on Monday night as Blackburn and Wrexham play out their fourth-round tie.

I'm sure I'll not be alone in hoping Wrexham manages to pull off a shock and beat Blackburn on Monday. The extra interest the circus that is Wrexham will generate in a fixture against our lot would be amazing. Guaranteed TV coverage and a definite whirlwind of action online as the Wrexham owners' social media work is unparalleled.

A tie against Wrexham could be very lucrative

Both sides could generate some good revenue off the back of this tie if the Welsh side overcome Blackburn.

It's getting closer

The tie will be played out over the weekend of 28th February so there's still plenty of time for Newcastle to get their top players back and into some sort of rhythm.

Of course, should Wrexham fail to beat Blackburn on Monday, there's still plenty to keep a tie between them and Newcastle interesting, especially given the current Rovers boss.

Blackburn could also be very interesting

Former Newcastle United flop Jon Dahl Tomasson is in the Blackburn hotseat and it will be very interesting to hear his thoughts going into the game after a disastrous spell on Tyneside before going on to become mint in Italy.

Whichever side we face, we have to be going into the game as favourites by a long way even with the opposing side having home advantage, but this is Newcastle and the FA Cup and all rules go out the window when it's that combination.

Let's see what tomorrow night brings!
