While it was a night to forget on the pitch for everyone connected with Newcastle United, Wor Flags produced a moment to remember for the club's record signing.

Alexander Isak was hoping to extend his scoring streak with Newcastle before Monday night's clash with West Ham and to spur him on, Wor Flags created a stunning display in support of our £63 million striker.

Isak had the ball in the back of the net early on, but the goal was correctly ruled out for offside by VAR, and the Sweden star ended up with a blank at the end of the night.

Naturally the squad's social media was pretty quiet last night as if often is after a defeat, but Alexander Isak took the time today to acknowledge the display and to thank Wor Flags and the fans.

Wor Flags put on a stunning display for Isak

Alexander Isak thanked Wor Flags for the 'incredible experience'

Taking to Instagram to post the images of the displays at the Leazes and Gallowgate Ends, Isak also mentioned the result.

"Very disappointing result last night.

"However I want to take my time to thank @worflags and the fanbase for this incredible experience walking onto the pitch and see this! Truly overwhelming and a moment I will never forget."

Newcastle have told Alexander Isak he'll have to wait for a new deal

Alexander Isak's people are pushing for a new contract at Newcastle, and the club are making him wait as he still has plenty of time left on his current deal. The club is also concerned about PSR, so handing out new contracts that aren't 100% necessary will eat into what little budget they have to play with.

This show of support from Wor Flags will hopefully remind Isak that he is adored at Newcastle and he's unlikely to get this kind of experience anywhere else.

Let's hope it did its job.
