Former Newcastle United striker, mostly remembered for his spell at Manchester United, Louis Saha has been offering words of wisdom to in-demand Newcastle man.

Louis Saha spent half a season on loan at Newcastle, his first foray into the Premier League, making 11 appearances and scoring once in the top flight before going on to play for Everton, Manchester United, Fulham, Tottenham, and Sunderland.

The much-travelled striker has now warned against Anthony Gordon doing something similar amid links to Liverpool.

Anthony Gordon was offered to Liverpool in a desperate plea to conform to PSR before Newcastle sold Yankuba Minteh and Elliot Anderson to Brighton and Nottingham Forest respectively.

The Anthony Gordon transfer rumours won't go away

Since then, however, the media just haven't been able to let go and not a day goes by that some outlet doesn't report on the idea of Anthony Gordon returning to Merseyside just 18 months after joining Newcastle.

The Magpies have no intention of letting him go despite their initial conversations with Liverpool. Similarly, Liverpool have been put off by Newcastle's demands when they were desperate for money, so now that the club is financially stable, Newcastle would be far less inclined to negotiate.

However, the media won't let facts get in the way of a good story so we're just going to have to ride this story out until the window closes.

Louis Saha cautions Anthony Gordon against Liverpool move

Fortunately, we have people like Louis Saha who has spoken out against the idea of Gordon making another move so soon, telling Betfred (via The Chronicle) he should remain at Newcastle.

“I don’t think it's a good time for him to move however, because it’s not a good thing to move around different clubs frequently and he’s only been at St James’ Park for 18 months. I would advise him to remain at Newcastle this summer.”

“In regards to whether I want Manchester United to join the race to sign him, I think Manchester United will always like those types of players that can be unpredictable, that are hardworking and can impact games. His work rate is certainly an advantage, but he’s also very solid technically. Similar to Alejandro Garnacho, Anthony brings energy, confidence and drive and that’s so exciting to see.”

Let's be honest, Manchester United have got more chance of winning La Liga than they do of signing Anthony Gordon from us.
