Kieran Trippier is the latest Newcastle United player to get the rapid-fire questions treatment from Gary Neville for The Overlap.

The current and former England right-backs sat down as Neville posed 26 quick-fire questions at Kieran Trippier which included him apologising to Eddie Howe for picking Diego Simeone as the best manager he's played under.

The 33-year-old also said that if he weren't a footballer he'd have followed in father's footsteps and been a builder which adds another dimension to the terrible photoshop job I did of making Trippier look like Bob The Builder after he got stick from the players for wearing double denim.

After risking the wrath of Eddie Howe for naming Simeone the best coach, Trippier then tempted the Toon Army into giving him stick when he revealed who his best friend in football is.

Trippier is best mates with a mackem!

We're aware of his friendship with Kyle Walker who gets a mention, but we are struggling with the one Trippier named first.

"Jordan Pickford and Kyle Walker. Even though he's from Sunderland. I met get a bit stick for that."

Fortunately for Trippier this video came out after Pickford admitted that he loves St James' Park, and the England squad announcement video when Pickford's inclusion was announced via a clip of Jill Scott at St James' Park. The fume from the mackems must have been monumental.

Tripps' story about Diego Costa is well worth a watch

The video is well worth a watch for a bit of extra insight into our on-field captain as he answers everything honestly, maybe too honestly.

We loved the bit about Diego Costa being a lunatic.

Trippier will be hoping to be in the Starting XI a week today as England take on Serbia in their first group game of Euro 2024.
