Newcastle United's vice-captain Kieran Trippier has been out of action for a while but the England defender still made his presence felt on Saturday.

The Newcastle team were all smiles as they came off the pitch at full-time on Saturday having just played out a 5-1 win over Sheffield United.

It could have been a very different story had the side not bucked their ideas up at half time as Sheffield United looked the most likely winners going off the first-half performance.

The Match Cam footage released by the club often has some funny little moments for fans to spot before and after the game, and it was the post-match footage that was especially worth watching this time around.

Injured duo Kieran Trippier and Joelinton were waiting outside the home dressing room to congratulate the players as they returned, but Trippier might be wishing he hadn't bothered.

Eddie Howe was first up to poke fun at the 33-year-old who was decked out in denim. Howe. literally laughing in Trippier's face for sporting the double denim look, but then as more people filtered through you could hear shouts of "Howdy partner!" and "Double denim" amid tons of laughter, with Jacob Murphy calling Trippier 'Bob The Builder'.

We love the banter, and Trippier took it well.

Also, as Callum Wilson came in he can be heard telling Trippier "I should have had two, man!", probably referring to the volley he lashed straight at Wes Foderingham after a knock-down by Alexander Isak. It looked for all the world that it was going to be a goal, but it wasn't meant to be.

Trippier also questioned if Bruno Guimaraes was going to try and claim a second goal, obviously thinking he got a touch to the Ben Osborn own goal, but that was all the Blades defender's own work.

In fairness to Trippier, Joelinton got off lightly for wearing the brightest jacket known to humankind. We feel at least some of the stick should have gone his way too, but everybody is probably scared of Big Joe so he can do what he wants.
