Newcastle United were back to their Champions League best on Sunday as they beat Nottingham Forest 3-1 at the City Ground.
The Magpies had to grow into the game and come from behind, but the second-half performance was practically flawless with Newcastle scoring all of their goals after the break.
Alexander Isak maintained his scoring streak by scoring Newcastle's first goal of the season from a corner, but then Joelinton added a beautiful left-footed curling effort to put the Geordie Boys into the lead before Harvey Barnes put the cherry on top 11 minutes later.
There were a few players who were in contention for Player of the Match from Sky Sports with Joelinton scooping the award at full time.
Troy Deeney once again picked his Team of the Week selections for the BBC and this week he included three Newcastle players.
"Dan Burn (Newcastle): Two old-fashioned English centre-halves this week and they were both excellent and did their jobs so well. Forest's Chris Wood has been the striker of the year so far and Burn put him to task. He did such a great job that Wood only had one touch in the Newcastle box."
"Joelinton (Newcastle): Everyone keeps forgetting that Joelinton came as a striker and game upon game, season upon season he just gets better and better as a midfielder. He's a big, strong physical specimen who scored an excellent goal but I like the whole way he conducts himself. He gets after people, and he's not afraid to make a tackle."
"Alexander Isak (Newcastle): A first time in the team this season for Isak. He got a goal and an assist against Forest and had great link-up play. He could have scored another one in the second half as well. When Newcastle were up against it he went 'right, watch this'. He can turn it up a level and dragged his team with him."
Dan Burn had a really solid game at the back for Newcastle and it is great to see his efforts noticed. He did pick up an unfortunate yellow card which will now see him ruled out of the game against West Ham.
Joe Willock was in contention for us, too but being withdrawn after the hour mark ruled him out.
It's hard to argue with his selections though, as the three he chose were all instrumental in the win.
