Newcastle United beat Bayern Munich to the signing of Nick Woltemade in the summer, which didn't go down well with the Bundesliga giants.

The reality of the difference in spending power between the Premier League and the Bundesliga made it easy for Newcastle to snap up the German striker from under Bayern's noses, and it's safe to say that they didn't take it well.

Fortunately, despite being keen on the move initially, Nick Woltemade has no regrets about how things turned out.

Speaking to Bild in Germany (via The Chronicle), the Newcastle striker says he believes everything happens for a reason and that he's happy at Newcastle.

One conversation with Eddie Howe was all it took to convince Nick Woltemade to come to Newcastle

Woltemade also revealed how a phone call with Eddie Howe was all it took for him to know this was the right move.

"The perfect example of this is the failed Bayern transfer.

"I'm super happy to be in Newcastle now. Otherwise, this wouldn't have happened at all. In hindsight, I'm happy that it turned out this way. I believe that everything happens for a reason.

"When my agent informed me about Newcastle's interest, I was at home in my apartment in Stuttgart.

"I was immediately keen and wanted to hear what they had to say. Then I had some very good talks with Eddie Howe, who is simply a great guy, and afterwards I immediately had the feeling: I'm going to do it! In the end, everything happened quite quickly."

Nick Woltemade and Peter Crouch on Saturday was TV Gold

Big Nick has been a revelation on Tyneside, and the fans have taken to him so well that he survived scoring an own goal to give Sunderland the win in the first Wear-Tyne derby in nine years, and as a thank you, he stuck two past Chelsea on Saturday.

After the game, he showed what a genuinely nice person he is when he met with Peter Crouch on TNT Sports. Coming out for the interview, all Woltemade wanted to do was speak to Crouchy about being a lanky footballer.

Once Newcastle work out how to use Wotlemade to his best, he's going to be unstoppable.
