Newcastle United suffered a heavy defeat at Craven Cottage bringing an end to an unbeaten run this season and an impressive unbeaten run at Fulham's home.

It's probably fair to say that Newcastle were battered and the scoreline reflected that.

Yes, there were times when Newcastle looked to be in control. For a large part of the second half, Fulham sat back and let Newcastle play, but they defended resolutely and other than a squandered golden chance from Fabian Schar and a tame shot after a brilliant run by Anthony Gordon, they offered very little in the way of a challenge for Marco Silva's men.

In fact, that run from Gordon was about the only positive thing he did all game in truth.

Anthony Gordon is not focused at all

We'd love to know what's going on with him because he looks as poor as he was when he first arrived at the club following his £45 million move from Everton. We can't help but notice that he's been horseradish since he got a mullet, by the way!

His body language is awful, his intensity and desire are all but gone and he spent more time flopping about on the floor like a freshly caught trout than he did contributing anything of note.

This is far from the player we put on a pedestal last season, and considering Newcastle are reportedly about to make him the club's highest-paid player, he wants to get his act together.

Luke Edwards pointed the finger at Newcastle's big stars

The Telegraph journalist Luke Edwards may have his haters in our fanbase, but he posted a series of what us old folks call tweets yesterday which may have been very negative, but they were also very right, and in them, Edwards pointed the finger at Newcastle's big stars, Anthony Gordon, Bruno Guimaraes, Alexander Isak and Joelinton, and rightly so.

He then singled out Anthony Gordon as the main offender.

"I would haul Gordon off at half time. Easily his worst performance for Newcastle. Body language is shocking too."

So often we've been able to point the fingers at the likes of Sean Longstaff, Dan Burn, Miguel Almiron and Jacob Murphy, but it's time we got real and acknowledged that it's not just the regular scapegoats who need to buck up, it's all of them.
