Newcastle United have another away game to face after dominating at Old Trafford with the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium the next ground the Magpies will look to conquer on Saturday in the 12:30pm TNT Sports televised kick-off.

The Toon Army will be hoping that their banging December form continues into January, and after battering their old nemesis, Manchester United into submission on Monday night, confidence will be high.

While Eddie Howe has a big choice to make at the back thanks to Fabian Schar's suspension, Ange Postecoglou has a much bigger selection crisis with his squad depleted, especially in defensive positions.

That could add to Newcastle's confidence, knowing that Spurs could be very frail at the back.

Chris Sutton expects Newcastle to pick up the points on Saturday

It's hardly a shock, then, that Chris Sutton has backed Newcastle to pick up another three points on Saturday as he's predicted the score for the BBC.

"Newcastle's form is incredible, with five wins on the spin in all competitions. They have scored 16 goals in those games, with only one conceded.

"Tottenham, in contrast, are on a poor run of results - although they did not perform badly in their defeat by Nottingham Forest or in their draw with Wolves last time out.

"This is going to be a great game and, while I think Spurs will score, I just can't go against Newcastle at the moment.

"Eddie Howe's side have got goals in them and it is not just Alexander Isak who is a threat - Jacob Murphy is playing really well and their midfield of Bruno Guimaraes, Sandro Tonali and Joelinton looks very strong.

Spurs have their own danger men that Newcastle do need to worry about

Sutton, like Paul Merson, has backed Newcastle to win, although Merse is expecting us to be more ruthless in front of goal.

Chris Sutton has identified Newcastle United's danger men, but it is still Spurs we're playing and they have Heung Min Son, James Maddison and Dominic Solanke who are no slouches.

It's always entertaining when these two clash, so it's bound to be a good game to watch. HOWAY THE LADS!
