Newcastle United's fixtures have undergone a reshuffle at the behest of the TV schedulers once again as the broadcasters make their picks for December.

As frustrating as these fixture changes can be for fans, it's always worth remembering that each one brings money into the club, and in this world of PSR, that can only be a good thing.

One of December's fixtures was always going to be selected for TV, so it's hardly a surprise.

Three games have been selected for live broadcast in December for Newcastle, all of which have obviously involved a change to the original times.

Newcastle's games against Spurs, Sunderland and Chelsea have been changed.

First off, the game against Tottenham Hotspur will now be played a day earlier than first intended, kicking off at 8:15 pm GMT on Tuesday, 2nd December and will be shown live on Sky Sports.

Inevitably, the Tyne-Wear derby against Sunderland at the Stadium of Light has also been changed. That game will now kick off at 2pm GMT on Sunday, 14th December – a day later than initially scheduled and will also be shown on Sky Sports.

Finally, the visit of Chelsea to St James’ Park has a new kick-off time. It will remain on Saturday, 20th December, but will get underway at 12:30pm GMT rather than 3pm GMT, and will be shown live on TNT Sports.

The derby is set for a Sunday afternoon - they probably thought they were being clever

We couldn't even conceive of a world where the derby wasn't going to be shown on live TV after being so long since the two sides met in the Premier League.

A 2pm kick off on a Sunday is an interesting one. It seems like an attempt to make it too early to be overly hammered and late enough on a Sunday that people are more inclined to just head home after the game.

Yeah. Like that'll work.
