The talk, as things stand at the time of writing, is that Alexander Isak has told the Newcastle United hierarchy that he wants to explore the idea of moving elsewhere this summer.

This comes from an article by Craig Hope, which is now being picked up by every other journalist out there, with Fabrizio Romano adding his voice to the choir.

We've no way of knowing right now if what Hope said is true, but adding up all of the bizarre things that have happened just in this week alone, it's safe to say there's very likely an element of truth here.

So, congratulations, Liverpool, your plan to disrupt our star player and turn his head has worked. Bravo.

Al-Hilal have made no concrete moves for Alexander Isak

While Newcastle fans come to terms with the idea of losing Isak, Fabrizio Romano has made it pretty clear where his future lies if it's not at St James' Park, as the rumours around interest from PIF-owned Al-Hilal are just that.

🚨💣 Understand Alexander Isak remains a target for Liverpool even after signing Ekitike… but depends on Newcastle.

If Newcastle open doors to an exit and #LFC sell Diaz, they can bid after direct contact made 10 days ago.

Let us dream for just a moment

If Newcastle fans were to get their way, they'd prefer he were sold to Al-Hilal (well, they'd prefer he stayed, but for the sake of argument, let's say he's leaving no matter what). Selling to a Premier League rival would be insanity, not just because we'd be strengthening the very team we're trying to catch, but because we already struggle against Liverpool, we don't need an old favourite coming back to bag a hat-trick at our expense.

Selling to PIF-owned Al-Hilal should open the door for a much higher fee. Saudis already pay inflated prices for players, so nobody could bat an eye if they gave us £200 million for Isak, even if it would be frowned upon by the very swines that are grafting to keep us out of reach of the Premier League title.

That £200 million would allow us to go on a mad spending spree, akin to that of Liverpool's this summer, so not only would it be awesome seeing Liverpool miss out, but it would be even better if we manage to use the Isak money to build a competitive squad.

Of course, this is all just pipe-dreams, as Isak, if he does leave, is clearly going to Liverpool.
