While former England internationals Kieran Trippier and Callum Wilson will be kept away from first-team action again this weekend, Eddie Howe will welcome one player back into the squad.
Pictured in this week's training gallery on the club's official website, Jacob Murphy looks set to return to the fold after missing the last two games with a hamstring injury as confirmed by The Daily Mail.
Given how well Anthony Gordon has played on the right against Chelsea and Arsenal with Joelinton, Joe Willock and Lewis Hall working the left wing, it's unlikely that Howe will rush Murphy back into the starting lineup.
Newcastle take on high-flying Nottingham Forest on Sunday at The City Ground in a 2pm Sky Sports televised game.
Jacob Murphy's form hasn't been the best this season, and it has felt like the only time he's provided decent service was when Newcastle didn't have a striker on the pitch to get on the end of his crosses.
That being said, he's still proven to be a better alternative to Miguel Almiron who has done nothing to stake a claim to a starting place in his limited game time this season.
With Nottingham Forest set to prove a tricky opponent on Sunday, we'll be happy to see Eddie Howe stick with the side that beat Arsenal on Saturday.
While Eddie Howe will likely put Murphy back into the squad, he has taken the decision to delay the returns of Kieran Trippier and Callum Wilson until after the international break.
The players not involved in international fixtures next week will be jetting out to Saudi Arabia for a warm weather training camp with the club taking advantage of the facilities of PIF-owned Al- Nassr.
Newcastle jetted off to Saudi Arabia for a warm-weather training camp in early 2022, a couple of months into Eddie Howe's reign and it was seen as the catalyst for the side's run of form that ultimately kept them in the Premier League.
