Eddie Howe makes two changes as Newcastle United take on Leeds United at St James' Park
Leeds United are in Toon tonight to take on Newcastle United at St James' Park in the Premier League. Kick-off is at 8:15 pm live on Sky Sports.
Before we get into the team news, we have to acknowledge the news that broke in the last hour that former manager Kevin Keegan has been diagnosed with cancer. We're all thinking of you, King Kev!
As for the Newcastle United lineup, we called it spot on in our prediction.
Howe has made two changes to the starting eleven that beat Crystal Palace on Sunday.
Nick Woltemade and Harvey Barnes come into the starting lineup
Nick Woltemade replaces Yoane Wissa as expected. We said in our prediction that we didn't think Wissa would be ready to start a third consecutive game just yet, and that has proved to be the case.
The other change is that Jacob Murphy drops out of the lineup. Murphy came off with a hamstring niggle on Sunday, but he is fit enough to be on the bench tonight.
In truth, even without that hamstring worry, we'd have expected Harvey Barnes to replace him tonight as Murphy was woeful on Sunday.
Lewis Miley keeps Kieran Trippier and Tino Livramento out of the side after another top display against Palace.
There's no Sean Longstaff for Leeds United tonight
As expected for the visitors, former Magpie Sean Longstaff misses out after failing to recover from injury in time. Unfortunately for the lifelong Toon fan, he wasn't fit enough to even make the bench so he will play no part in his first return to St James' Park.
Dominic Calvert-Lewin, who is in stunning form for Leeds, does start tonight after being relentlessly linked with Newcastle before his move to Elland Road.
On paper, we should be winning this one comfortably, but we can't shake that dread that comes with the knowledge of that dismal record that Eddie Howe has against Leeds United. Is tonight the night he gets his third win against the Yorkshire side?
