There is a glaring issue with Newcastle United's current play style and it's that the team falls apart when they enter the final third.

Especially down the right-side of the attack, the end product has been severely lacking with Jacob Murphy having his best game of the season in terms of playing the final ball when there was actually nobody there to aim at.

If Alexander Isak had been on the pitch in the game against Manchester City, things may have gone very differently after Murphy played some dangerous balls into the box only for Newcastle to have nobody to get on the end of it.

A right-winger is a top priority for Newcastle in the upcoming transfer window and a new candidate has emerged as a potential target for Eddie Howe and Paul Mitchell.

Antoine Semenyo during his career low

Newcastle, Liverpool and Tottenham all want Antoine Semenyo

Bournemouth are enjoying a decent start to the season and a big part of that is down to their right-winger Antoine Semenyo who has had a superb start to the season with three goals and an assist in his first seven Premier League games.

His form is attracting interest from other Premier League clubs according to Give Me Sport who claim that Newcastle are joined by Liverpool and Tottenham in their appreciation of the 24-year-old.

Semenyo has had a steady rise to the top after making his name with Bristol City in a spell which included a brief, fruitless loan move to Sunderland where he made just seven appearances for the Black Cats in League One, contributing precisely nothing.

Newcastle could be forced to spend big if they want to land Semenyo

Semenyo has come a long way since those dark days earning himself an £11 million move to the Cherries in 2023 where he's grown into an exciting Premier League player.

Indeed, Semenyo's one assist this season came in the 1-1 draw with Newcastle where he consistently looked threatening.

While Newcastle still have an eye on Nottingham Forest's Anthony Elanga, Semenyo currently looks like the better option based on current form, although the competition is looking quite fierce for him as things stand.

Bournemouth are bracing themselves for bids but it will demand a hefty fee for Semenyo much like they did for Dominic Solanke who recently moved to Spurs in a deal worth up to £65 million. It's likely they will push for a similar figure for Semenyo if his form carries on up to the next transfer window.
