Newcastle United manager Eddie Howe has spoken to Sky Sports ahead of the televised game with Everton on Saturday at Goodison Park.

Before the usual Friday morning pre-match press conference, Sky Sports News put out their interview with Howe where the gaffer confirmed what we all already suspected.

Alexander Isak will sit out the game against Everton has he continues to recover from a broken toe.

The £63 million signing had tried to play with the injury against Fulham but it was ultimately a failed experiment and the decision has been taken to allow the foot time to heal naturally. This has also caused Isak to sit out the next couple of Nations League games for Sweden.

Callum Wilson is expected back after the international break

Wilson and Isak are expected back after the international break

In another complete non-surprise, Howe confirmed that Callum Wilson would also not be fit to face the Toffees.

“He [Isak] won’t make the game tomorrow.

“We hope he will be back after the international break, and we hope the same with Callum [Wilson].

“Potentially good news around the corner with those two. They’re such important players for us.”

Anthony Gordon will lead the line against his old club

With Will Osula still not deemed ready for the responsibility of leading the line in the Premier League, Anthony Gordon is likely to start as centre-forward against his old club.

What price for an Anthony Gordon hat trick I wonder?

We might have a game in the NUFCFEED office - everyone guesses how many appearances Callum Wilson manages this season. Closest wins a crisp high five.
