Newcastle United added another record to their collection last night as Harvey Barnes scored the latest winning goal in Premier League history with his second strike of the night, which came on 102 minutes.

There was a minimum of 10 minutes of stoppage time added to the end of the second half following a lengthy stoppage for Fabian Schar, who was stretchered off after an awkward landing.

Fabi was sent to the hospital with an ankle injury, and at the time of writing, we're still waiting for an update, but it certainly doesn't sound good.

Newcastle were awarded a penalty at the end of 90 minutes, so the stoppage involved in checking that and taking the penalty, the celebrations and restarting the game will have added to the hefty lump of stoppage time.

Add to that the time-wasting efforts of Leeds, including a triple substitution and that 10 minutes ultimately became 13, which gave Harvey Barnes enough time to bag the winner on 102 minutes, turning on the spot in the box to unleash a shot that went under the outstretched arm of Lucas Perri.

Leeds fans were looking desperately for a moral victory

It was obviously a bitter blow for Leeds, who had led the game on three occasions, but it was sheer elation for Newcastle fans.

However, a quick look at social media this morning, and it seems there's some extra-strength copium being taken in Yorkshire as one fan was adamant that Barnes' second goal should have been chalked off for handball.

A still image did the rounds suggesting Barnes had controlled the ball with his hand, but the video footage clearly showed that there was zero contact with his arm.

Not all Leeds fans were in agreement over the handball conspiracy

To be fair to the fan, if we were on the receiving end of such a crushing blow by our arch-nemesis (Harvey Barnes always scores against Leeds), we'd be grasping at straws too.

Fortunately, his fellow Leeds fans were there to talk some sense into him and let him know that there was no infraction by Barnes.

If they want to point fingers, they should be looking at Lukas Nmecha, who lazily turned his back on Barnes, or Lucas Perri who should have done much better with his attempted save.
