Eddie Howe to make five changes: Our predicted starting XI for Newcastle United to take on Bournemouth
Newcastle United have barely had time to get their breath back after Wednesday night's epic win over Leeds United, but they are back in action on Saturday afternoon in the FA Cup third round as they take on AFC Bournemouth in a 3 o'clock kick-off at ST James' Park.
After playing out an intense game that went on over 100 minutes on Wednesday, Eddie Howe is bound to make some changes for this game, especially with an eye on Tuesday's huge game against Manchester City in the Carabao Cup semi-final.
One change is forced due to Fabian Schar's injury, but we expect the Newcastle gaffer to make at least another four changes.
There's a possible fifth change that we've resisted in our prediction, but we wouldn't be surprised to see Eddie Howe make it.
Goalkeeper
Nick Pope - We wouldn't be surprised to see Aaron Ramsdale given a run out on Saturday, but to keep the number of changes down, we've stuck with Pope.
Defenders
Kieran Trippier - Trippier hasn't been back from injury long, so it may be a risk throwing him in from the start, but we need to utilise the whole squad right now.
Malick Thiaw - The German will be itching to get back out there to make amends for his horror show on Wednesday.
Sven Botman - Played 45 minutes on Wednesday after replacing Thiaw. It's a test for him to go again so soon, but it's the same story for Trippier.
Tino Livramento - Lewis Hall could do with a break, and Tino could do with a start.
Midfielders
Bruno Guimaraes (c) - He's simply too important to drop.
Joe Willock - We'd rather not, but we think Eddie Howe will.
Jacob Ramsey - This seems like the change we're most likely to have got right.
Forwards
Jacob Murphy - Anthony Elanga isn't quite ready, so we think Howe will turn to Murph.
Nick Woltemade - We expect Yoane Wissa to be saved for Tuesday for his ability to run behind defences.
Harvey Barnes - Anthony Gordon being rested for Man City feels like a very Eddie Howe thing to do, and Barnes was incredibleon Wednesday and shouldn't be dropped unless he physically can't go again.
These changes will leave Eddie Howe with a strong bench to switch things up in the second half, particularly at the back, where the likes of Trippier, Botman and Livramento may start to fade towards the end of the game.
Lewis Miley, Anthony Gordon, Lewis Hall, Joelinton, Sandro Tonali and Yoane Wissa can all make a big impact if needed later on.
