Newcastle United have now learned the kick-off date and time for their FA Cup tie with Brighton and Hove Albion.

The Magpies' reward for seeing off Birmingham City in the FA Cup last week was a home tie against Premier League rivals Brighton, which will be Newcastle's first top-flight clash in the competition this season.

The draws had been relatively kind to Newcastle in the third and fourth round with League Two Bromley followed by League One Birmingham, but there was no Championship next-step for Newcastle to continue the trend.

Thankfully, the Magpies were drawn at home so the Toon Army could do their thing to push the lads into the draw for the quarter-finals.

The FA Cup fixture against Brighton now has a date and time confirmed

We've known the venue and the opposition since Monday night's draw, but now we know when the game will take place.

The game has been scheduled for Sunday, 2nd March, with a 1:45 pm kick-off. For those who can't make it to St James' Park, the game will be shown on ITV1.

Should Newcastle make it through to the quarter-finals, those games are also scheduled for March as things stand, meaning next month could be very cup-heavy for the Magpies with the Carabao Cup final in the middle of the month too.

Have we mentioned that Newcastle could do the treble this season?

As things stand, Newcastle are the only club that could win the treble this season, and we will cling on to this fact right up until it's no longer possible.

The Premier League title is realistically out of reach, but there's absolutely nothing to say that we can't do the cup double.

That would be beyond massive for Newcastle, especially in terms of convincing the likes of Alexander Isak, Bruno Guimaraes and Sandro Tonali that they made the right call coming to this fantastic club.
