Cup fever is taking over Newcastle United as Eddie Howe's men become the only side who can do the Treble

Newcastle United will find out tonight who awaits them in the fifth round of the FA Cup with the draw to be made during The One Show on the BBC at around 7:10pm.

It's bad enough that the EFL has allocated almost 30,000 tickets for corporate, but now the FA Cup is being drawn during The One Show? What has become of this sport, honestly?

Anyway, that's by the by. The fact here is that, while it's very unlikely, Newcastle United are now the only side that can do the domestic treble by lifting both cups and the Premier League title.

Of course, the league title is a stretch at this point, but it's still mathematically possible, so we'll take it.

Newcastle fans are dreaming of an EFL and FA Cup double

But while the Premier League is probably out of reach, we're 90 minutes away from lifting one cup and some big hitters are already out of the FA Cup.

Our Carabao Cup final opponents, Liverpool, fell to lowly Championship side Plymouth Argyle on Sunday in a thoroughly entertaining match.

We don't expect that Arne Slot would be so kind as to field such a weakened side at Wembley next month, but we can hope that their focus is elsewhere.

There are several Premier League sides left in the FA Cup

Tottenham Hotspur were knocked out by Aston Villa, and Everton were dumped out by Bournemouth.

Both Manchester sides remain in the pot, however, as do a few other Premier League sides, but there are still a few possibilities for a favourable draw, but Newcastle should be confident going up against anybody in this competition. Man City and Man United scraped through and are beatable.

We've made it to the Carabao Cup final the hard way. The FA Cup has been kind so far, but we will soon find out how long that generosity lasts.
