Brighton and Hove Albion are closing in on another potentially big signing this summer after already landing Yankuba Minteh from Newcastle United.
The Seagulls have had a decent transfer window bringing Yankuba Minteh from Newcastle and Brajan Gruda who was also linked with the Magpies.
Not content with just that, though, Fabrizio Romano has claimed that Brighton are now close to agreeing a deal for Turkish full-back Ferdi Kadioglu from Fenerbahce who Newcastle had on their wish list last summer.
Heading into Euro 2024 we earmarked the Turkish international as one to watch, and he did go on to have a good tournament with Turkey.
Newcastle are pretty set for full-backs now though with Lewis Hall finding his feet after a rocky start.
The Magpies also have Lloyd Kelly who can fill in at left-back as can Dan Burn as we know. Matt Targett is still loitering around, and is in fact back in training.
Kieran Trippier and Tino Livramento have been known to switch flanks if needed to, so a move for Kadioglu now doesn't really make much sense for Newcastle.
It does mean, however, that Brighton could be a team to keep an eye on this season, they have recruited well with Georginio Rutter also looking like he's Brighton-bound after they activated his £40 million release clause from Leeds United.
All the while, Newcastle are still dealing with another rejection for Marc Guehi while making, what appears to be at least, no progress on anything else in the market.
The good mood around the club is in danger of imploding again if nothing is done soon.
