It is now being reported that Newcastle United sent scouts to watch Turkey at Euro 2024 to cast an eye over one player in particular.

Newcastle have been linked with a few Turkish talents since the takeover, with Merih Demiral and Arda Guler often linked and most recently Semih Kilicsoy, but there's one name that appeared, disappeared and has now returned.

24-year-old Ferdi Kadioglu was on Newcastle's wish list before Eddie Howe opted for Tino Livramento and Lewis Hall, but it seems he still remains of interest to the Magpies.

However, it's Arsenal who are seemingly the most keen with Borussia Dortmund also interested in the Fenerbahce man.

Kadioglu's versatility is extremely impressive

If you look up "versatile" in the dictionary you'll probably get the image on Transfermarkt of which positions Kadioglu plays.

His position is listed as left-back, but he has played Left-back, left mid and left wing. He's done the same down the right and even popped up as an attacking midfielder.

Kadioglu has looked really decent for Turkey at Euro 2024 and despite his versatility and his good showing at the Euros, it's believed it will only take €25million-£30million (£21million-£25million) to take him off Fenerbahce's hands according to Caught Offside.

Arsenal seem to be leading the chase for Ferdi Kadioglu

It does feel more like Newcastle are watching from afar than actually getting involved, however, with Arsenal most likely to win the race for Kadioglu.

The Gunners also look set to beat Newcastle to Italy centre-back Riccardo Calafiori.

I'm sure one of these days we'll sign somebody ahead of our rivals.
