Anthony Gordon starred for Newcastle United once again as the Magpies took three points away from St James' Park after a 4-3 win over West Ham United.
Newcastle were made to work for their points yesterday having to overcome several injuries during the game and a a two-goal deficit.
Despite all the changes to formation, the bad luck and the ebb and flow of the game Anthony Gordon remained focused and stuck to his task all game. Even doing so while wearing moccasins by the looks of things given how many times he slipped over.
Fresh from making his England debut, Gordon was instrumental in Newcastle's win, winning both penalties and providing the assist for Harvey Barnes' winner before ultimately being sent off for a second bookable offence after kicking the ball away after the Hammers were awarded a free-kick.
After the game, Gordon took to social media to sum the game up perfectly in four words.
"Proper game of football"
The game had it all and even those who had a poor game - and there were a few on both sides - still gave their all.
The red card Gordon picked up in the closing stages now means he will miss the game against his former club Everton on Tuesday - did he do it on purpose? No, of course he didn't, but Everton fans will allow themselves to believe it.
It's a shame really as we'd have loved to have seen him bag a hat trick against the Toffees. Oh well, there's always next season - if they stay up.
We're sure Gordon will be cheering on the Magpies on Tuesday wherever he's watching it from.
