After Alan Shearer spoke so highly of Bruno Guimaraes' performance against Nottingham Forest on this week's The Rest Is Football podcast it was no surprise to see the Brazilian in his Team of the Week.
Bruno Guimaraes was back to his best on Saturday when he scored the opening and winning goals for Newcastle United in the 3-2 win over Nottingham Forest at the City Ground.
As well as his two goals, Bruno looked like the player we fell in love with again. Controlling the play through the middle of the park, picking the right pass and reading the game brilliantly.
He earned his praise from Newcastle United legend Alan Shearer who had plenty of nice words to say about him on Monday's The Rest Is Football podcast with Gary Lineker.
It's no real surprise then, to see Bruno Guimaraes' name on Alan Shearer's Team of the Week selection.
"A match-winning performance with his two well-taken goals in a game that could easily have gone the other way against Nottingham Forest."
Much like Garth Crooks' Team of the Week for the BBC, there was no place for any other Newcastle players which again, seems harsh on Kieran Trippier who had a big part to play in the outcome of the game.
Eddie Howe moved Bruno back into a more advanced role after making him sit deep for most of the season and the difference in how he played was night and day.
He looks infinitely more comfortable being part of the attack than he does sitting deeper, hopefully, Howe will stick with this tactic going forward as it clearly worked.
