Newcastle United hero Alan Shearer has now revealed which other club he'd loved to have played for.

This week's The Rest Is Football podcast focuses on questions from listeners and contains a mixed bag of topics such as who would the hosts, Gary Lineker, Alan Shearer and Micah Richards have in their five-a-side team, a couple of brilliant stories about Sir Bobby Robson and the trio are asked which other clubs would they like to have played for.

When answering the latter question, Micah Richards wasted no time in saying he'd like to have played for Arsenal under Arsene Wenger before going on to list some of the great players who played under the Frenchman.

Alan Shearer wasn't the only one to turn down Alex Ferguson

Gary Lineker let the sentiment surrounding the funeral of Sir Bobby Charlton taint his answer as he opted for Manchester United while revealing that he twice turned down a move to the Red Devils, one time he even turned down Sir Alex Ferguson - something that Alan Shearer took great delight in mocking him for.

Alan Shearer famously turned down a move to Manchester United to join Newcastle and Man United fans haven't let him forget it to this day.

When it was Shearer's turn to answer the question, the former England striker was quick with his brilliant response.

This is why we love Alan Shearer, well this and all the goals

"Sunderland so I could get them f'ing relegated again"

He always knows the right things to say.

Shearer was actually in top form on this episode, mocking his co-hosts at any available opportunity without conviction.
