Newcastle United are back to winning ways after a 3-1 win over Southampton on Saturday with Alexander Isak also back to scoring after takin a week off.

The Swedish striker netted twice in the win over Southampton to make up for missing a week against Bournemouth and as a result was selected in Troy Deeney's team of the week for the BBC as the sole pick of Newcastle players.

It wasn't a vintage display by Newcastle by any means, but there were a couple of players who really shone over the 90 minutes with Isak being one of them.

Geordie legend Alan Shearer saw the quality of another Toon player and included him alongside Isak in his Team of the Week selection for the Premier League.

Alan Shearer picked Sandro Tonali and Alexander Isak in his TotW

Sandro Tonali has been exceptional for Newcastle ever since he was put in that number six position by Eddie Howe. It's no coincidence that the winning streak started after that tactical shift, and the Italian was the other selection by Shearer.

Sandro Tonali (Newcastle)
"He was the driving force in the Newcastle midfield and took his goal superbly."
Alexander Isak (Newcastle)
"Just unstoppable at the moment. Another two goals, and he's now only two behind Mohamed Salah in the race for the Golden Boot."

Tonali's party piece lately is still running at full tilt deep in stoppage time

Sandro Tonali's engine is something that has to be admired. He gives his all for the entire 90 minutes. We just have to look at that run he made for his goal, starting at the edge of his own box, winning a header that went directly to Isak, who chested it on for Alexander Isak who saw Tonali was still running, fed him the ball and Tonali took it in his stride and finished like a centre-forward.

Then, yet again, in second-half stoppage time, we saw Tonali perform a gut-busting run that left defenders in his wake. How he can still have the legs to do that so late on in the game is anyone's guess.

We have a real baller on our hands.
