Brighton and Hove Albion will be hoping to do the treble over Newcastle United on Sunday at the AMEX Stadium having already beaten the Magpies at St James' Park in the Premier League then again in the FA Cup.

Newcastle have never won a Premier League game at the AMEX which has us a little bit nervous about the outcome on Sunday.

However, Newcastle have a lot more to play for and the form guide over recent games is very much in their favour.

Brighton did get a win last weekend, but it was their first in six games, while Newcastle have lost only once in eight games.

Chris Sutton has splinters

It's a tough game to predict, as evidenced by the wildly different score predictions between Paul Merson and now Chris Sutton's prediction for the BBC, with Merson backing an away win and Sutton sitting on the fence.

"Brighton got back to winning ways last weekend thanks to Carlos Baleba's brilliant late strike against West Ham.

"The Seagulls beat Newcastle at St James' Park earlier in the season too, but that was before Eddie Howe's side hit their stride, and it is a big ask for Brighton to repeat that result.

"Newcastle were just relentless in their win over Ipswich and another three points here would be massive in their bid for a top-five finish - I don't think they will get them, but we will see a few goals.

We'd take the draw if we're being honest

A draw wouldn't be the end of the world for Newcastle, nor would a defeat, in fairness, as we still have Chelsea to play and beating them will practically guarantee us a spot in the top five.

That being said, we'd obviously much rather do this convincingly by winning all of our remaining games, so there can be no doubt that we fully deserved our spot in the Champions League.

But, given our record against Brighton on their patch, we'd happily take the draw on Sunday. The game is live on Sky Sports with a 2pm kick-off.
