There are times when I feel like writing myself a little keyboard macro that automatically populates a text box with "Callum Wilson has been ruled out" after I type "Ca" as it happens so often these days.

We've had more false dawns when it comes to Callum Wilson returning from this back injury than we had with The Crow movie reboot.

Hopefully when Wilson does return from injury it's better than that mess of a movie. Anyway ... last week Eddie Howe ruled Callum Wilson out for a further three games as he was feeling a tightness in his body which meant he couldn't push himself as much as he wanted to.

After Saturday's game against Arsenal that will be those three games up following the double-header against Chelsea, which means that originally Wilson was due to be available for the Nottingham Forest game on the 10th.

Did he just miss a shot or is he wincing in pain? Hard to tell

Add another game to Callum Wilson's absent list

When speaking to the press this morning in his pre-match media briefing (via The Chronicle), Eddie Howe said that they're going to leave Wilson until after the international break meaning he will not be involved at Forest next week.

"Callum is doing okay, he’s building his load again. There was no real injury but just a feeling in his body that he couldn’t push as hard as he wanted. We’ll see how he is but probably with the two-week gap it's best to leave it."

At this point, why do we even bother?

Imagine how many goals Wilson would have for Newcastle if he stayed fit

It's actually crazy to think of how many goals Wilson could have had for Newcastle if he wasn't made of one-ply bog roll held together with frayed string and dreams.

There's never been any question about Wilson's quality as a player and his prowess as a goal scorer, but when it comes to injuries that's where he truly shines.

I hate digging him out every week and I feel sorry for him because I know it's not his fault, but seriously, how many more messages does his body have to send him?
