23-year-old Newcastle man tops the UEFA Champions League chart for fastest player in GW2

Newcastle United have a midfielder at the top of the charts for the fastest player in the second round of Champions League games ... and it wasn't Anthony Gordon.

We all know by now how rapid Anthony Gordon is as we often see him at the top end of the fastest players in the Premier League lists when they do the rounds, but it now looks like Newcastle have a closet speedster amongst their ranks.

A graphic doing the rounds on social media has shown a surprise in the number one spot for the fastest clocked players in the second round of Champions League games.

It turns out Sandro Tonali is a mini rocket clocking in a top speed of 35.5km/h (22mph) just beating Benfica's David Neres by 0.1 km/h.

Former Newcastle United target Christian Pulisic clocked in at number three and there were two Manchester United players on the list in Rasmus Hoijland and Marcus Rashford.

There was no sign of Anthony Gordon in the top 10, which is curious.

Although given the game in question was Newcastle's 4-1 hammering of Paris Saint-Germain, maybe Gordon never really felt the need to get out of first gear.

Thinking about it though, if Gordon was going at full pelt at the start of the game when he challenged Marquinhos for the ball on the touchline, riling up the crowd, we may have had an A-Train in Episode one of The Boys type situation.
