One of Newcastle United's reported summer transfer targets won't be going anywhere ahead of next season it seems.
Newcastle were reported as having an interest in 18-year-old Swedish winger Roony Bardghji who plays for FC Copenhagen with a view to a summer move.
Although, Bardghji was cautioned against making a move to a big club too soon in his career despite interest from several Premier League sides.
Going off what Fabrizio Romano has just posted on X this evening, though, it doesn't look like the NXGN wonderkid list member will be going anywhere this summer.
Romano posted that FC Copenhagen have confirmed a six-month absence for the winger due to a ruptured ACL.
"Swedish talent Roony Bardghji has torn his ACL, injury confirmed by Copenhagen.
"The winger on the shortlist of several clubs for the future will be out for the next 6 months."
We can't be the only ones thinking that makes him perfect for Eddie Howe's ACL-Damaged Army.
Now that Bardghji is not set to return to action until the back-end of the year, he will almost inevitably stay at Copenhagen until the season after next, unless he makes some kind of miracle recovery and picks up exactly where he left off in time for the January transfer window.
He's definitely a player we should be keeping tabs on though, as he's already banging in goals in Europe and looks set to have a big future in the game.
