Newcastle United have been waiting for Brentford to release Yoane Wissa for a couple of weeks now, as the DR Congo striker has informed the Bees of his decision to move to Tyneside.

The 28-year-old informed Brentford that he will not play for them again and wants the move to Newcastle this summer, in a situation that is eerily similar to the one the Magpies are dealing with thanks to Alexander Isak.

Brentford are resigned to the fact that their main goal threat, who scored 19 Premier League goals last season, the most of any player not including penalties, is leaving them this summer. However, Brentford will not sanction the move until they have a replacement in place.

The Bees have targeted Bournemouth's Dango Ouatarra, and a deal is thought to be close on that front too.

The dominoes are starting to fall

However, like Brentford, Bournemouth don't want to allow their striker to leave until they have a replacement in place, but now journalist Ben Jacobs has given a positive update on that front, which could start the dominoes toppling.

"Bournemouth in advanced talks to sign Bayer Leverkusen Moroccan forward Amine Adli. Leverkusen seeking £26m and an agreement is close.

"Adli viewed as a replacement for Brentford target Dango Outtara, which could in turn allow Yoane Wissa to join Newcastle.🇲🇦"

It doesn't look like Wissa will be a Newcastle player in time for Saturday

Should Bournemouth get the deal sewn up for Amine Adli, that will allow Dango Ouatarra to join Brentford, which in turn will allow Yoane Wissa to move to Tyneside.

It's all got very complicated, but there does appear to be light at the end of the tunnel.

It does seem unlikely at this point that Wissa will be a Newcastle player in time for the weekend's game against Aston Villa, but we shouldn't have to wait much longer to get the striker through the door.
