Newcastle United fans who tuned in to watch the Three Lions hammer the Republic of Ireland fans yesterday were treated to seeing three of their heroes line up for England for the first time in 27 years.
Each of Newcastle's England players started the game against Ireland with Lewis Hall being a standout player in the first half, while in the second, Tino Livramento provided a cross for Anthony Gordon to volley home for England's second goal.
It was hopefully a sign of things to come for England and Newcastle, but while the England boys were celebrating, another Newcastle player wasn't having such a good time.
Sandro Tonali made a return to the San Siro with Italy as they took on France in the Nations League.
After scoring his first international goal against Belgium, Tonali was handed yet another 90 minutes for his country, but the Newcastle midfielder could do nothing to prevent a heavy defeat.
Former Newcastle target Adrien Rabiot helped himself to a brace either side of a Guglielmo Vicario own goal - and an Andrea Cambiaso goal for Italy to make it a 3-1 win for France.
That win saw France take the top spot in the Nations League A Group 2 on goal difference over Italy.
The good news is that there's no more Nations League nonsense for almost two years and no more international breaks until March.
And there was much rejoicing.
The better news is that it would appear that all of Newcastle's European internationals who have played their two games are returning to Tyneside injury-free. However, Alexander Isak still has one more game to go, so fingers crossed for him.
