Newcastle United fell to another away defeat as Tottenham Hotspur put in a quality performance and tore Eddie Howe's men to shreds.

Joelinton grabbed his obligatory goal against Spurs in second-half stoppage time but it was barely even a consolation as Tottenham had already put four goals beyond Martin Dubravka.

Eddie Howe's men picked up where they left off against Everton on Thursday in that they looked absolutely goosed and void of any ideas as the sickening injury crisis increases its icy grip on our season.

It's frustrating watching Newcastle play so bad when there's nobody to blame

It's so frustrating watching us play so badly and knowing that it's nobody's fault. The outfield lads who started this afternoon have all played the bulk of the last four games and are absolutely spent.

Alexander Isak hasn't looked anywhere near fully fit since he returned from injury and tonight he looked even slower than he has been. Bruno Guimaraes was awful, Trippier was at fault for a goal again and then went on to get booked so will now miss Saturday's game against Fulham.

It was an all-round shocking performance with very little to redeem anyone. The positives came in the form of seeing Callum Wilson and Sean Longstaff back on the pitch though they could do nothing to turn the tide of the game.

We need to get a grip soon

For me, the most insulting thing was allowing Richarlison to score twice. There isn't a player in the Premier League I loathe more, based on absolutely nothing at all.

While it's great to see players returning from injury, finally, we still can't rely on these players to step up straight away without risking losing them again straight away.

There are no answers and we do not envy Eddie Howe at the moment, his job is borderline impossible. Let's hope things start to turn around soon before our season completely gets away from us.
