Newcastle United are likely to come up against a familiar face on Sunday when the Magpies travel to the London Stadium to take on West Ham United.

Former Toon number nine, Callum Wilson, now plies his trade for the Hammers after years of tormenting them.

We would always go into a game against West Ham full of confidence if we knew Callum Wilson was playing, as the former England star loved bagging goals against the Hammers.

However, on Sunday, he'll be hoping to flip that around and reverse it on us, and while Eddie Howe is looking forward to the reunion, the pleasantries will have to wait until after the game.

Buddies!

Eddie Howe is looking forward to the reunion with Callum Wilson

Speaking to the media on Friday morning (h/t The Chronicle), Howe spoke about how nice it would be to see Wilson, but emphasised the importance of getting the win first.

"It will be great to see Callum, but most importantly, we have a job to do against him.

"I have spoken about how much quality he has, and I am looking forward to seeing him and embracing him after the game, but we have a job to do first to stop him."

Callum Wilson was immense for Newcastle... when fit

Callum Wilson has one goal in seven games in all competitions for West Ham so far, which isn't a great record by his standards, but at least he's been able to take part in seven games this season, which is a good record for Wilson.

The 33-year-old was a phenomenal striker for us when he was fit, and we were glad to see him given another chance in the top flight when he left the club in the summer.

Let's just hope he doesn't come back to haunt us on Sunday.
